Subscription Concert 1 –A Cinematic Potpourri opens your LA Winds 26-27 season with a dashing romp
through Sherwood forest with composer Erich Korngold’s Suite from the 1938 classic “The Adventures of Robin Hood.” A post Halloween performance of “Night on Bald Mountain” from Disney’s “Fantasia” will also be featured along with Sousa’s “At the Movies” and our own Chuck Fernandez’s “Animatus Eventus” that includes some of the cartoon world’s most recognized themes. CalTech’s celebrated Wind Ensemble also be featured in our season-opening spectacular!
An American Birthday and Holiday Movie Celebration

Subscription Concert 2 – An American Birthday and Holiday Movie Celebration will feature works by iconic American Composers Charles Ives (Variations on America), David Shaffer (Celstial Legend) and a powerful setting of Stephen Melilo’s “David.” We’ll also feature David Newman’s “Jingle All the Way” and we’ll set Mikos Roza’s brilliant score of Ben-Hur to the 1925 silent movie version – a classic blending of sacred spirituality and Sword and Sandal Spectacle. We’ll close with our traditional “Merry Sing Along” and Holiday Reception.
The Newman Family – A Movie Music Dynasty

Subscription Concert 3 – The Newman Family – A Movie Music Dynasty. Alfred Newman (founder of the Newman Movie music dynasty) will be featured in his stirring score to “Captain from Castille.” His son Thomas Newman (the James Bond thriller “Skyfall”) and daughter Maria will also be featured. And as a Valentine’s day bonus, we’ll pay tribute to the barefoot Gypsy beauty, Esmeralda—and her 4 unusually diverse suitors—with the 1923 silent film the Hunchback of Notre Dame. We’ll move it up from the 15th to the 20th century by adding Alan Menken’s score to excerpts from this Lon Chaney classic. “Disney Favorites”, “Lord of the Rings” and “Star Wars” highlights will round out this exciting afternoon of movie music making.
Chamber Music Series: Woodwinds

Subscription Concert 4 – Attend one or both of our intimate chamber music concerts “in the round” in the AC Stelle Middle School Multi-Purpose Room. The Feb. 21 concert will feature all the woodwind players from your LA Winds plus members of the Song of Angels Flute Orchestra and the Los Angeles Clarinet Choir. Richard Strauss’ Suite for Winds will be our featured work.
Chamber Music Series: Brass & Percussion

Subscription Concert 5 – We’ll feature our multi-talented Brass and Percussion players in Janacek’s famous Sinfonieia Fanfare – plus British brass band favorites and a fascinating array of percussion instruments and soloists. And we’ll close out this “in-the-round” concert with Charles Fernandez’s hilarious chamber setting of the music from “Young Frankenstein”.
Phantom of the Opera + Health & Spirituality

Subscription Concert 6 – Andrew Lloyd Weber’s haunting and beautiful score to “The Phantom of the Opera” will be paired with the 1925 version of this silent film classic. And when we leave the depths of the Paris Opera House to emerge 100 years earlier at the Latin Quarter near the Louvre, we’ll hear the sounds of La Bohème whose music and plot were so prominent in the motion pictures Moonstruck, Rent and Moulin Rouge.
Health and Wellness expert Maureen Feldman will once again join us for a fascinaFng discussion on
“Spirituality and Health” as a prelude to our final works on our program, “They Hung Their Harps in
the Willows” and “Resplendent Glory.”
Annual “Dinner with the Maestro” at Struzzo’s Malibu Restaurant overlooking the Pacific to follow – for Gold and Platinum level Subscribers.
Summer BBQ/Concert

Subscription Concert 7 – The 2026-2027 Season concludes with a Summer BBQ/Concert with
your patriotic favorites and highlights from the film adaptations of the classic musicals “Camelot,”
the “Lion King,” the “Music Man” and the “Sound of Music.” Main course items served from Wood Ranch BBQ.
