A celebratory “Coming Out” series of 2 concerts (3:00 pm and 6:00 pm) at this beautiful landmark venue. Limited seating with tickets priced at only $10 will make your LA Winds first live, in-person concert in over a year an event not to be missed.


Julie and Stephen’s “Summer Soirée” Fund Raiser
August 22, 2021

LA Winds Board member Julie Newman and Maestro Stephen Piazza host an intimate afternoon gathering of LA Winds Chamber musicians, our 584 Big Band and a limited number of LA Winds Patrons and Supporters. This fund raising “Soirée” will feature French cuisine, complimentary champagne, a selection of French “Vin” as well as soft drinks and desserts. Don’t miss out on the social event of the summer at the beautiful home and tennis court area of Charles and Tonya Guzelli. Bring your dancing shoes— if you’re so inclined! “Soirée” and Chamber music commence at 4:00 pm, Dinner at 5:00, Big Band concert and Dancing at 6:00.

The full complement of your LA Winds will present a musical potpourri of well known wind band classics by Samuel Barber, John Philip Sousa, Morton Gould and William Schuman plus some fascinating works that deserve to be revisited by lesser known great American composers such Dudley Buck, Bernard Rogers, John Barnes Chance and Mark Camphouse. We’ll bookend our multi-faceted program with two iconic works from the classic Symphonic Band repertoire: Alfred Reed’s “El Camino Real” and James Barnes’ virtuosic “Fantasy Variations on a Theme of Paganini” — both conducted by Maestro Piazza.

BBQ Chicken, Ribs and all the “fixins” and a no-host beverage bar will kick off a summer-time concert featuring your LA Winds and our 584 Jazz Band.
