IRA Donations

LA Winds is Now Accepting IRA Donations from Eligible Donors

Many individuals who are required to take money from their IRA, but do not need it for living expenses, have chosen to make a tax saving Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCD) from their IRAs to support non-profit organizations, are now asked to include the LA Symphonic Winds.

If you are able to and decided to make donations this year, donating to the Los Angeles Symphonic Winds from an IRA (Individual Retirement Account), part or all, is now available. This is a compassionate way to support the LAWinds, the arts and local musicians, while satisfying your IRA required minimum distribution, by donating through an IRA QCD.

Transferring a QCD is simple, with the key requirement being that it be transferred directly from your IRA custodian to the LAWinds. Consult your IRA trustee/custodian regarding their procedure for your personal requirements.

The dollar amount of the donation may effectively lower the donor’s taxable income, with some exceptions. Discuss with your tax advisor. Note, donors are acknowledged in our concert program.
