Subscription Concert 4 – The Smothers’ Theater on the lovely and picturesque Malibu campus of Pepperdine University is our home for a special post-Valentine concert.
“Heartbeats and Heartbreaks—A Post-Valentine Potpourri of Love, Legend and Loss”
Join your internationally acclaimed Los Angeles Symphonic Winds and critically acclaimed vocalists Roberto Perlas Gomez, Christina Kushnick and Megan MacDonald for a spectacular afternoon of some of the world’s most beloved melodies. Set in the picturesque surroundings of Malibu’s Pepperdine University campus, we’ll feature highlights from West Side Story and Porgy and Bess as well as love-themed operatic classics by Massenet, Ponchielli, Prokofiev, Puccini, Saint Saens and Wagner. And we’ll also present the world premiere of award-winning composer Maria Newman’s Wind Symphony setting of the Old Testament story, “Le Livre D’Esther”. Join us for this special event on Sunday afternoon, February 22, 2:30 pm at the Smothers Theater of Pepperdine University.
