Subscription Concert 7 – Our final concert of the season and Part 2 of our “Wellness” Series features three exciting works celebrating Indigenous Peoples’ musical insights, experiences and traditions: Nathan Tanouye’s festive “Kokopelli’s Dance”, Steve Burch’s Chumash-inspired “Swordfish Dance” and Roland Barrett’s thrilling “Ghost Dance-Wounded Knee 1890”. We’ll also feature two of Frank Ticheli’s most inspiring works… “Angels in the Architecture” with soprano, Christina Kushnick, and “American Elegy”. The second half of the program opens with a Adam Gilberti presenting a demonstration of Native American Instruments. Adam Gilberti is a composer, conductor, author, educator, and multi-instrumentalist working in the Los Angeles area. He is the instrument curator for The UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music.
